Jobs in Raleigh NC See Monthly Increase
Wednesday, April 7th, 2010Although the unemployment rate increased and more employers shed workers over the year, some jobs in Raleigh NC were added during February.
During February, the Raleigh-Cary area’s unemployment rate increased from 9.5 percent to 9.6 percent, following an increase from 8.7 percent during January. The latest increase places the area’s rate just below the national average of 9.7 percent.
The Raleigh area had a total non-farm employment of 492,700 workers during February, according to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics. This is up from 490,000 workers during January, but a 1.7 percent decrease from last year.
