Orlando Jobs Decline

During September, the Orlando-Kissimmee area saw its unemployment rate increase from 11.1 percent to 11.5 percent, after seeing no increase or decrease during August. The current rate was higher than the national unemployment rate at the time of 9.8 percent.
The area had a total non-farm employment of 1,015,700 workers during September, according to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics. This is down from 1,017,700 workers during August and a 4.7 percent decrease from last year.
