Non for Profit Jobs Sell Holiday Cards to Support Employment Centre

Those with volunteer non for profit jobs (Click here) are starting to get into the holiday spirit.

The Causeway Foundation recently launched the 2011 Holiday Card Campaign, a program that aims to raise funds for the Causeway Work Centre. Since beginning 11 years ago, the volunteer-run campaign has raised more than $100,000.

The Causeway Work Centre provides a place where people with mental health issues and other barriers to employment can go to improve their skills, receive one-on-one support ,overcome challenges, find employment, and embark on a more independent life.

Non Profit Jobs Should Strengthen Boards

We all know that the recent recession had a negative impact on many non profit jobs, but as the economy continues to rebound, the foundations that hand out nonprofit funding are looking for ways to ensure their investments are worthwhile, including strengthening boards.

A recent survey from The Chronicle of Philanthropy found that a majority of people think nonprofit organizations should do more to strengthen their boards, which serve as the backbone of most groups.

Some ideas to strengthen boards include everything from finding more grants and supporting board development to providing foundation-sponsored training and allowing foundation employees to help choose board members.

The Chronicle of Philanthropy recently released a list of organizations that have received grants of $100,000 or more from foundations, companies, and other private sources.

The nonprofits receiving these grants cover a variety of industries and plan to use the money for a wide range of purposes, some of which include hiring.

Non Profit Management Jobs Realize Volunteer Importance

It’s becoming more important than ever before for those with non profit management jobs to find volunteers who are willing to donate their time. Visit http://jobs.heart.org/jobs to find out more.

A recent report from Independent Sector found that volunteers are increasingly valuable to nonprofit organizations. The estimated monetary value of a volunteer reached $21.36 per hour in 2010, which is up from $20.85 the previous year.

During 2009, about 63.4 million people - or about 26.8 percent of the adult population - volunteered for a nonprofit organization, which is an increase of 1.6 million volunteers from 2008. Those volunteers donated 8.1 billion hours of time worth $169 billion.
