Los Angeles Education Jobs Get New Campaign

A new campaign hopes to raise awareness about low-performing schools and bolster Los Angeles education jobs.

The Partnership for Los Angeles Schools released “The Time is Now,” the first of three 30-second public service announcements, earlier this summer. The PSAs are part of a campaign to generate awareness about the crisis in the city’s lowest-performing public schools.

The PSA is the beginning of a six-month marketing campaign to get civic leaders involved with the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools. The campaign was created by FOX Sports West, which became a strategic partner of the Partnership after adopting Santee High School.

“We have the will, the energy, and the dedication to drive reform in our low performing schools but we cannot do it alone,” Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said. “We must continue to form partnerships aligned around tangible reform in education. FOX Sports West is partnering with us to make real change happen at our schools and in lives of the students they serve by graciously producing and airing these informative PSAs to spread the word that our schools are in need and everyone can help.”

Marshall Tuck, CEO of the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools, said the campaign is meant to raise awareness about the city’s poorest and low-performing schools and bring new people into the effort.

“And thanks to the generosity of our partners at FOX Sports West, who helped us create these wonderful PSAs, we hope to raise awareness of both the dimensions of the problems we face, as well as the potential for success we see every day - a potential that tells us we can do this,” he said.
