Monday, December 21st, 2009

A winning bid by one company for two local contracts will help to create several Austin construction jobs.

The Austin City Council recently awarded two construction contracts worth $12.7 million to Chasco Constructors. According to an article by the Austin Business Journal, the company made the lowest bid, of $6.4 million, to add more overnight parking space for jets at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. That project will require 1,100 truckloads of concrete to pour 10,000 cubic yards. The project, which is expected to begin during spring 2010, will create about 30 jobs and last about a year.
